Blogger Outreach: Step by Step
Blogger outreach (or guest posting) is a great way to help you build traffic, leads, and even sales, to a new or existing business. It provides some incredible benefits that go above and beyond basic link building, and it’s something which everybody who owns a website or takes part in internet marketing should be doing as part of their marketing campaign during 2019.
If you’re unfamiliar with blogger outreach / guest posting, then this article should help you to understand the basics and give you the step by step process which you need to start taking advantage of this service to help build traffic to your website.
There are plenty of blogger outreach service providers out there, and most businesses opt to outsource this task, as it is extremely time consuming and does require a certain amount of skill. But, if you’re on a very tight budget, if you have some free time, or if you just want to handle the marketing yourself. Then, this guide is for you.
The first step in your campaign is to identify your target audience; what type of people are you looking to get to visit your website? Once you’ve identified your target audience, you can start searching out popular blogs which have a similar target audience, to ensure the blog which you do end up outreaching to, will have a matching audience and one that is interested in whatever it is you are offering them.
Once you’ve identified your target audience and got a list of potential target blogs, the next step is to start developing the content which you will use for your blogger outreach campaign. You need to make sure the content you develop adds value, provides actionable tips or knowledge, and matches the audience of the target blog. If you can do all of this, and include a link or mention back to your website or business, then you should see some great results.
The next step is the actual outreach. Once you’ve got your content ready and you have your list of potential target blogs, you need to start reaching out to them to try and get them to publish your content on their blog. A lot of people suggest interacting with their blog first (leaving comments, sharing on social media) but I don’t think that’s necessary. You need to send a short but sweet email to the blog owner, and include some information about what your article is about, and you can even attach the full article for them to review as well.
Once you’ve submitted your content, all you can do now is wait and be patient. The blog owner will get back to you and let you know if they will publish your content, or if they will not. Some blog owners charge an editorial fee, so they would mention this if they do, and then you can decide whether or not you want to spend that amount of money to secure the guest post placement. If you don’t receive a reply from your email within 72 hours, you can always send a follow up email, and then another after an additional 72 hours. But, if it goes 9 days without a reply from 3 emails, if I were you, I would give up on that blog and start focussing on another potential blog.
I hope these tips have provided you with a better understand of the blogger outreach process. If you have any questions, please feel free to leave a comment below and i’ll get back to you as soon as possible!
